How to find us

 

The Hop Inn is situated about one and a half miles from Belper town centre in Openwoodgate. The pub is sat on the crossroads with the main A609 road, Over Lane and Sandbed Lane.

Openwoodgate is one of the highest points in Belper, so if you get lost just head uphill!

 

Directions by road

  From The A6

Whether you are travelling north from Derby or south from Matlock you will get to a roundabout on the A6 in Belper. This is where Morrisons supermarket is. You need to turn onto the A609 (signposted Openwoodgate). Carry on this road, around the one way system until you reach a mini painted roundabout. Take the second exit onto Short Street, then at the next painted roundabout take the first exit.
Follow this road to the top of the hill and you will find us on the right hand side of the crossroads.

Car parking is available if you turn right at the crossroads, the car park will be on your left.

 

  From the A38

Take the exit signposted Belper, Kilburn, Coxbench onto the B6179. Turn towards Kilburn & Belper and carry on this road until you reach a crossroads with traffic lights.

Turn left here and follow the road to the crossroads at the top of the hill. Turn left here and the car park is on you left.

 

Bus & Rail

The Hop Inn is on bus routes 6.X and 71 from Derby. These buses can both be caught outside Derby Council House and run frequently.
From Belper Railway Station it is about a half hour walk uphill, through the market place and follow the road to the top of the hill.
